Macro and Derivative Strategy

SFG's Macro and Derivative Strategy Team is a dedicated group of investment professionals who specialize in researching macro themes, risk management, investment theory, and trading strategies. The team regularly presents investment recommendations and actionable ideas in indices, sectors, ETFs, and single stock options. In addition, the team focuses on gathering market intelligence and derivatives education across listed securities markets.

The Macro and Derivative Strategy Team is comprised of a Macro Strategy Team, Micro Strategy Team, Market Intelligence, and Quantitative Analysts. The four groups work in concert to provide differentiated market color, commentary, and collaborate in the development of actionable trading and investment strategies.

The Market Intelligence Team monitors the cash and derivative markets to identify noteworthy trades. The team is a unique resource in that it focuses on any activity of notable interest, and is not constrained by a defined coverage list.

The Quantitative Analysts monitor and interpret volatility metrics, historical market trends, and statistical characteristics of markets and evaluate investment strategies based on past performance. Additionally, the Quantitative Analysts work with clients to evaluate ideas on a bespoke basis.

Derivative Education Classes for Clients

Leveraging an education complex and training program widely regarded to be among the best on Wall Street, SFG offers classes for our asset management clients, covering the structure and uses of options and exchange traded funds, as well as interpretations of activity in these markets. SFG's classes are available to the trading, management, and research staff of such organizations as hedge funds, mutual funds, and plan sponsors. SFG's classes can be custom tailored to the organization's level of experience.
