We place and develop TAs in the following functional areas:

  • Software Development
  • FPGA
  • Infrastructure (including Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, and DevOps Engineering)

What We Offer

Throughout the 9 month programme, you will get exposure to different areas of the firm as we introduce you to our technology environment and the specific technologies you will use at SIG.

The programme includes classroom education and training sessions, focused on helping you to develop company-specific knowledge, technical skills, and business effectiveness skills.

SIG Knowledge

No matter what team you're on at SIG, getting a "big picture" perspective of our technology is important. In order to share this with you during your time as a TA, senior technologists will host overviews of their technical teams, the products they have created in-house, and how the teams interact and work together to impact the business. You'll also gain exposure to various trading desks in order to learn more about our industry.

Technical Classes

We offer a variety of classes to get you up to speed on any technologies that will be needed for success in your role - Python, Linux, Networking, and Databases are just a few examples.

Collaborative Learning Opportunities

Our tech environment is very collaborative, and we'll make sure you work closely with colleagues/teammates with expert skills and knowledge. As a TA, you may spend time shadowing different technical teams or rotating into these teams for up to 12 weeks at a time. Depending on your role, this may include spending time in our head office in Philadelphia.

Mentorship

Throughout the programme, you will work alongside industry experts and be mentored by an experienced member of SIG's technology team, who will work with you to guide your development process.

Presentations

You will present an overview of your work to your peers, colleagues, and senior members of the technology department. The presentations provide an opportunity to showcase the impact of your work and what you've learned, while also gaining an understanding of the projects your fellow TAs have worked on.

InternshipsTechnology Internship Programme

Our summer interns work on challenging projects that will be pushed into production. Interns at SIG get to learn about technology in a complex environment while also gaining real world, hands-on work experience. Our teams use a variety of platforms (Linux and Windows) and programming languages (primarily C++, C#, and Python). We hire students into many different teams including: Software Development, Infrastructure + Engineering, and Support. Our internship program is typically 10 weeks long and runs over the summer.

Intern Education

The goal of our education program is to familiarize you with our business and how we use technology to solve challenging problems. Our interns have the opportunity to learn how technology drives trading in today’s financial markets, both in the classroom and as a contributing team member. The hands on opportunities that you’ll experience within our environment allow you to put what you’ve learned in the classroom to practice.
