Jordan Ellenberg, Mathematician and NY Times Best-Selling Author

Jordan Ellenberg is a John D. MacArthur Professor of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin, and the author of the NY Times Bestseller, How Not to Be Wrong: The Power of Mathematical Thinking. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard with research focused on the fields of number theory and algebraic geometry. Jordan is passionate about mathematics, specifically about how math touches everything we do. During his talk, he shared examples of this, including the story of a group of mathematically-driven individuals that used statistical principles to execute a strategy that led to consistent wins of a lottery game in Massachusetts.
