What to Expect
At SIG, our focus is on substance over presentation. While we appreciate reading error-free resumes, what we’re most interested in is the coursework you’ve completed and the kinds of hobbies and activities for which you have a passion.
Interview Tips
Our approach to interviewing is tailored to you. Our recruiters modify the interview to your skills and experiences rather than sticking to a script. We think this allows your true interests and talents to shine. However, we can certainly offer a few pointers that are important for all candidates to consider:
Be Yourself
Give honest answers. Allow the interviewer to get to know you. Making the best match is what’s best for everyone involved.
Know SIG
Our website is a great place to learn about our history, our people, and our place in today’s world financial markets.
Know Yourself
Be prepared to elaborate on your resume, especially the ways in which your skills may apply to the opportunity at hand.
Take Your Time
If logic and probability questions are part of your interview, take the time you need to answer thoughtfully. Accuracy counts more than speed. Your approach to problem solving is also important.
Use a Land Line
Aside from campus interviews, most early interviews take place by phone. Why gamble on a dropped call or a poor connection if a land line is available?
Ask Questions
Think about what you’d like to know about SIG—anything you’re curious about is worth bringing up. We’ll give you plenty of time toward the end of the interview to inquire.
Reserve 30 Minutes
Initial interviews usually last half an hour. Schedule your day so you don’t feel rushed before or after the call.
Start Early
Know when we’ll be on your campus so you can meet us in person. We also encourage you to create a profile and submit your resume online.
