Technology Summer Intern Program

SIG’s Technology Internship Program will immerse you in real work with real impact right from the start. You won’t be running errands or making photocopies during your 10 weeks with us. Instead, you may start out the day writing C# .NET code that a trader will use before the financial markets close that afternoon. Or you may work with senior engineers on a project aimed at making our trading systems faster. Regardless of what team you work in, you become an important contributor over the summer months and help solve business problems.

Technology interns typically work in one of the following areas: software development, systems engineering, network engineering, and information security. (Not seeing your area of expertise or unsure which area is for you? Ask us about it in your interview process.

The program commences with overviews of SIG’s culture, core businesses, and technology, as well as team building activities like a scavenger hunt in Center City, Philadelphia. You will also experience a formal education curriculum throughout the summer. Senior technologists, traders, and subject matter experts teach you about decision science and option theory as well as the cornerstones of our technology philosophy such as speed and stability. You will have direct interaction with our senior technology managers and CIO through lunch-and-learns and social events too.

Needless to say, the phrase “I’m just an intern” won’t be heard at SIG. Our interns accomplish real work and work on cutting-edge trading systems. The technology internship is your opportunity to make an impact on our business and your professional career. Interns who perform well during their 10 weeks with us are considered for full-time opportunities at the end of the summer.
